Fellow Scholars and Scribes! I bid you welcome to the first annual SCRIBE SPOTLIGHT! ๐ one last mosh before the road ๐
At the end of each year, we will take a couple of weeks (turned out to be a month ๐ ) to highlight our most diligent and talented authors. ๐ฑ
Of course, there are other factors at play: your activity in the community, the number of writings you have posted, as well as your overall conduct with other members.
***All quotes in this showcase are from the spotlighted creator's works.***

Our last spotlight for the year is of someone very dear to me (at least on Hive, we're not roommates or anything, calm down). A lover of pizza and stories, her pleasant character always is refreshing. It is my absolute privilege to present to you... ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

@anikekirsten has been with us from the beginning. As a proud Pizza guild member, she has shepherded what it means to be both Scholar and Scribe. ๐๐๐
As a Scribe, her mind works in creative ways and it's always a delight to see her next concept come to life. As a Scholar, her words are always encouraging and poignant. It is only fitting we end this year's spotlights with someone like Anike. ๐

@anikekirsten has written many different types of short stories (although she has told me in private that she likes to be addressed as the Sci-Fi queen ๐). As any diligent author, she has cataloged her entries.
All of them are carried and interesting in their own way. As I said, Anike's creative genius comes in many different shapes and sizes. ๐
One of my personal favorites is the Songs in the Silence. A unique sci-fi story with a mute protagonist. These amazing premises, and their well-handled execution, is what I love most about @anikekirsten's writing.
Scattered clouds streaked across the green-brown landmass. She watched his fingers slide over the screen and listened to his humming, a crescendo followed by a dip and a long vibrato before a succession of staccato for the fine details of the painting. He ended the painting on a legato and rapid finger twitches, saved the work, and handed the tablet to her with a smile. The clouds, at first a few puffed balls, stretched and blurred like an invisible hand had smudged the titanium white blobs of paint over the sky.

Another amazing Sci-Fi story is aptly named Dancing Lights & Flying Whales. For this one, I think saying as little as possible is best. Just trust me when I say Anike's skill is vast, and her thematic prowess is on great display here.
The alien pressed one of her tentacles against the pocketโs wall. Shelley floated closer, pressing an arm against it as well. The alienโs mouth stretched sideways and she moved her tentacle up above her head. Shelley inflated and pushed from the sand, following after it. Another tentacle moved to the alienโs mouth and pointed. Shelley copied her gesture. How graceful her movement.
As you can see, @anikekirsten's penmanship is unmistakable. Her charm and willingness to get better, however, might be even greater still (if that's even possible). She embodies what it means to be a part of this community, and while she is absent from us right now, I'm sure when she does return it will be with a vengeance. ๐ช
