The music was pumping, the crowd was jumping. and Lina was having a hell of a time.

"- and my dad, you know my dad. He was like, uhhhh, 'you better get your own car, boy!' and so, uhhhh, you know, I got one, and -"

The boy dancing with her could not stop talking. Lina just kept smiling, bobbing to the rhythm of the sublime techno. Her favorite DJ was rocking tonight, and nothing would stop her from having a good time.

" - and so I was like, uhhhh, you know how we guys are sometimes."

"Boneheads?" Lina said without missing a beat.

"Totally, totally! So I told him -"

Where was Janice? Lina sent her to get drinks like an eternity ago. Oh! There's Janice.

"Heyyyy, girrrlll." Janice appeared out of nowhere, two cocktails in her dainty hands. Lina snatched one as soon as it was within reach.

"Who's your friend?" The guy asked conspiratorially.

"That's Janice!" Lina said between straw sips.

The guy went to talk with her, then he started talking more. Phew! Let's see how Janice deals with him.

The cocktail was so delicious Lina was tempted to keep on slurping but held herself back. Last time she got so wasted that Zack had to drive her home. And that moron would not let her hear the end of it if she relied on him two days weekends in a row. So, she measured herself. only half glass is done.

The song changed and a roar of shouts and whistling echoed through the club. Lina raised her hand and started waving to the new rhythm. Janice and the guy were gone! Lina laughed. That bitch! She took another sip of her cocktail.

"Lina!"

"Marry!"

Lina went up, close and personal to the phantom that was Marry. Sometimes she was there! Sometimes you forgot she existed. Lina was glad to see her though. Always.

"What's up, bitch?" Marry was drinking a beer because of course she was.

"Dancing and romancing!" Lina said with a twinkle.

'"Romancing? Who?"

Lina gestured to the cocktail with an expression that said 'What do you mean?' Marry cackled and started dancing alongside her. They talked about the DJ and what a great job the promoters did hiring him again.

"Where's Janice? Weren't you supposed to come together?" Lina shrugged her shoulders while giving Marry the look. Marry cackled. "That bitch!" They laughed.

Lina's cocktail disappeared. She looked at Marry and her lack of beverage and pointed to the bar. "Let's sit down a little! Get some drinks!"

"Sure!"

They bumped through hundreds to reach the bar. Thankfully, once there two stools, unoccupied and begging to be sat on, presented themselves before the ladies. They sat. Ordered new cocktails. Waited an unseemly amount of time to receive them. Toasted. Drank.

"You girls come here often?" The cute bartender asked.

"Maaaaayyyybeeee." Lina kept sipping. "What's your nameee?"

"Doris." The blonde said, smiling back. "And yours?"

"I'm Lina! And this is Marry!"

Marry turned to the side. Which meant two things - she was hella drunk, and she found the bartender too cute and was blushing. Lina found her super adorable when she was like this!

"Your friend is shy!" Doris said while cleaning whisky glasses.

"She likes you!" Lina said.

"Lina!" Marry hit her arm and Doris chuckled. Marry touched up her hair, then turned to the blonde bartender. "My name's Marry!"

"A pleasure, Marry!"

They talked for a while until Doris proposed going out for a cig. Neither of them smoked but Marry went anyway. Lina declined. Let them have some fun. Fresh air would be nice, but you know what would feel nicer? Dancing!

She dominated the dance floor for a while. People came, people went. People talked, people nudged, people left. Lina kept dancing. A couple of nice gentlemen bought her some cocktails. Lina accepted them of course. And soon was well and truly hammered.

Lina found herself on the benches, nursing her throbbing legs. The cushions felt so nice and she sank into them with drunken glee.

"There you are!" Someone said.

Lina turned. "Well, well, well. If it isn't the fucboi!"

Zak smiled. "L, you're wasted!"

"Nuh-uh!"

"Yuh-uh!"

"Pffffff!" Lina searched for a drink that wasn't there. "As you can see, hiccup, I have no liquids with me."

"Come on!" Zack waved his hand.

"What?"

"Come onnn!" Zack waved again, more insistently.

Lina sighed dramatically but took his hand, wobbled, then followed Zack closely out of the club.

The fresh air and sudden lack of music slowly made her nauseous.

"Come on, my car is over there. Let's get you home."

Lina only hoped she wouldn't throw up in Zack's car again like last Friday. Or was it the one before that? She dully hoped his car wasn't too far off.

Oh well.
